Launch of Physical Safe Spaces in Kurudu and Ushafa Communities Under The Spotlight Initiative

Under the SpotlightInitiative contracted by UNESCO, Soar Initiative officially launches safe spaces for women and girls in Kurudu community of AMAC and Ushafa community of Bwari.

The District Head (Hakimi) of Kurudu community, HRH Chief Ezra Gomna pledges to give his support towards the sustainability of the Spotlight Initiative Safe Space in Kurudu implemented by UNESCO through Soar Initiative

Present at the official launch of the safe space was the Executive Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) who was ably represented by his S.A. on CSOs & Executive Director, Abiodun Essiet Initiative for Girls, Mrs. Abiodun Essiet, Dr. Stephen Onyekwelu: Spotlight Initiative Program Manager, UNESCO, the Executive Director of Soar Initiative, Mrs. Chinyere Eyoh along side staff and volunteers with over 40 community women and girls in Kurudu.
. A new day has come for the Women and Girls of Ushafa Community as a physical safe space which is equipped to handle Violence against Women & Girls related issues is right at their doorstep #SpotlightEndViolence #SpotlightNG
